Physical Description | Standing 6’2” tall, Dyami is a bit taller than the average Native American man, but with his high cheekbones, broad shoulders, and muscular build, his heritage is unmistakable. Long black hair falls to just below his shoulders, and is normally worn in a well maintained, thick braid. Unlike most of his brethren, he manages to keep a reasonable amount of facial hair, normally a healthy, neatly trimmed goatee. Contrasting these things, as well as his sun-bronzed skin, are striking, ice-blue eyes that seem to hold a wisdom far beyond his apparent age. Over the span of his lifetime Dyami has acquired enough tattoos on his right arm and shoulder as to cover it nearly completely, forming a colorful sleeve. He is quite proud of these, considering the fact that he’s spent almost a century and a half in finding just the right ones. Dyami’s choice of attire falls into two categories: Modern and Traditional. Or it could be said Archaic. Typically he finds the latter to be more comfortable, putting him more in connection with his ancestors, and with the time in which he was raised. This clothing tends to be breeches, a vest, and knee high moccasins, all made of buckskin, as well as a hand-crafted longbow and a quiver full of arrows. He also carries two hand-crafted, ancient, family weapons passed down to him from his grandfather, called Eagle Talons. These are hand and forearm weapons worn like a glove and bracer, with 8 inch, curved blades extending from each finger. These weapons are very old. He doesn't even know exactly how old. Needless to say this attire does not fit in well with modern day style, and makes him stand out to say the least. When in more modern surroundings he can sometimes be seen to dress in his official U.S. Marshall uniform complete with pistol, handcuffs, taser, and pepper spray. Not to mention cowboy boots and hat. In more casual situations he tends to wear jeans and a t-shirt, usually with various classic and modern rock band logos embossed on them, as well as his moccasins as footwear. No matter what state of dress he is in, he almost always carries a leather backpack containing his supplies. He also wears a large necklace passed to him by his late sister, made of silver and turquoise. |

Personal History | Born in 1825, during one of the most prosperous and happiest times in the Cherokee Nation's existence. The Nation had just received formal national recognition from the US government and chose New Echota, NC as their Capital. Unfortunately, only a short 10 years later, the nation was moved from the ancestral homelands, enmass, to Florida in 1835. Dyami was 10 years old and saw the sadness, but also the resolute will of his people to survive. The nation stayed only briefly in Florida as they were once again moved, this time to Oklahoma in 1838. Dyami was only 13 years old when he walked the Trail of Tears. This struck him hard, as he saw most of his friends fall on the side of the trail never to rise again. Thirty thousand people died on that year long, forced march. Most of them elderly and children. Upon arriving in Oklahoma he and his Grandfather set up shop on the outskirts of Tahlequah, the new capital of the Nation. It was here that his sister was killed by Hydra while he watched. After her death the Great Spirit chose him as the heir to the Skinwalker, and he was trained by his grandfather in the Shamanistic arts. Also on how to control his more rabid side. Surprisingly, even after all the mistreatment at the hands of the US government, he bore them little ill will, simply accepting it as a fate determined by the Great Spirit. He even saw kindness from the missionaries that came to his people and from them learned many things. Languages, and law, to name only a couple. It was at the age of 35 that he chose to join the US Marshal’s Office, and he has been involved with them for over 140 years. He has several high level contacts in the US government that allow him to keep operating independently, and without scrutiny, for such a long period of time. Normally through the subtle changing of dates and details in his personnel file. This system has seen him retire five times, building up quite a substantial set of accounts at various banks. Currently he is try to put this money to good use. He finally feels strong enough to put together and lead a small group of powered people to take on the person who killed his beloved sister. |
