"Escape from Hell : Haven House Part Five"

Wednesday Evening

Haven House - Edgerton, Wyoming

Jaclyn had worked the afternoon at the Food Bank, packing boxes and serving customers. The Reverend had shown his face but stayed away from her. She had, had to put up with Peter's sarcastic comments about how she should have car pooled with them. Ignoring him was easy enough, the weasel of the arsehole brothers was a coward without Simon to back him up. She had returned to the house just in time to witness Mary and Michael leave with the Reverend in a limo. Monica and Carl had arrived a short time later and once Dinner was over, they had taken Simon and Peter aside while Jaclyn helped Kai clean the kitchen.

Kai whispered that she had packed food and other items for them and they were stacked outside the backdoor.

Jaclyn nodded and gave Kai's hand a squeeze. "10pm" she whispered and Kai nodded.

Once the dishes were done, Jaclyn headed for the stairs but she had to go through the lounge area. As she stepped into it, she heard the front door close and a car start. The Elwys's were leaving. So Jac picked up her pace trying to make the stairs before the men returned.. she almost made it.

Simon's burly form filled the doorway. She could see the weasel like form of Peter right behind him and she stifled the groan that threatened to escape her throat.

Simon's eyes fixed on Jaclyn and he smirked. "Well, well, well. Looks like the little bitch is all alone."

"If you come near me, you will regret it."

"Doubt it. The Reverend is going to give you to me to initiate into the church. And I like my initiates broken in spirit." Simon walked right up to her and before she could move he grabbed her by the hair and yanked her head back, hard, in a downwards motion forcing Jaclyn to cry out even as she was forced to her knees. "That's it bitch. Monica is not going to save you this time."

"Let go of me arsehole!" Jaclyn screamed as she lashed out with her fists at his midsection and groin. She must have connected as he grunted and released her hair. But before she could move, he punched her in the face and she spun to the floor. "Peter, get me the poker!" Simon yelled. "Time to teach this bitch a proper lesson. Monica will just have to do without her for a few more days!"

Peter moved and grabbed the poker from the fireplace and handed it to Simon.

Kai ran in and Peter grabbed her "oh no you don't!" He snarled and flung Kai to the ground beside Jaclyn.

Jaclyn had tears on her face but she gritted her teeth against the pain and reached out and grabbed Kai's hand. "Run Kai." She got out just as the poker came down across her back causing her to scream in pain."OOWWW"

Kai screamed at Simon to leave Jaclyn alone, only for him to kick her in the side and send her skidding across into the coffee table legs. Kai curled into a ball as She lay there.

Jaclyn meanwhile tried to block the blows from the poker with her left arm only for the poker to smash down on it and she felt her arm break and she couldn't stop her screams and sobs of pain.

Simon looked down at her smirking. "Aww now you know your place Bitch. On the floor, at my feet." He dropped the poker to the floor and left the room.

Peter followed Simon's lead, leaving the two sobbing girls there on the floor.

As their footsteps retreated up the stairs to the top floor, Jaclyn struggled to stand and as she did, she cradled her arm in her shirt. "Kai.. are you okay?"

Kai uncurled and nodded. "Y-yes...i guess so." She had a bruise on the side of her face. Jac assumed she looked just as bad if not worse.

"Go get your things, sme timeline. We wait for them to sleep then you go out the back door, I will go get Artemis and meet you at 10 ok?"

"Your arm Jaclyn.."

"We cannot worry about that now. And if we seek out medical attention here in Edgerton, then Monica and Carl will find out and try to keep us here."

Kai nodded. "Okay, 10pm."

Jaclyn nodded and turned slowly and walked out of the lounge room and headed for the stairs.

Kai headed for her room off of the kitchen.

Several hours later, Kai snuck out the kitchen door and saw the Van's side-door was open and Jaclyn was stacking boxes into it.

She moved over to the van and Jac turned and smiled faintly. Artemis was sitting on one of the bunk beds.

"Put your stuff in, we will sort it out later."Jaclyn said.

Kai noticed that she had fashioned a sling from a scarf and was using it to support her arm. Kai loaded her bags into the van with a nod.

"Are we going now?" She asked softly.

“No you are not going anywhere,” A voice said from the gloom. Both girls spun around and found themselves looking at Reverend Marrs.

Jac swore loudly. “Aw Fuck”

She grabbed Kai with her good arm and pushed her behind her. “Kai, get ready to run”

“There will be no running Miss Morrison. You and Miss Irving are not going anywhere.” The Reverend said as he moved forward. From behind him, Simon and Peter appeared as did Monica and Carl. “I knew Simon would not be able to help himself, so I came back to watch. He will be punished”

“Hey what?” Simon interjected but he fell silent at the look from the Reverend.

“As will the two of you for daring to leave. Take them!” He ordered.

“Run!” Jaclyn yelled and as Kai took off, Artemis ran after the younger girl quickly and Jaclyn made to move in the opposite direction.

But she was more wounded than she had let on and she could only just walk and no way was running anywhere on the table for her, so she settled for lashing out with her legs and good arm at Carl as he came at her.

“No!” She snapped as he lunged and caught her by the back of her neck. He managed to subdue her and pressed another needle into her shoulder, knocking her out again.

Further away, Kai was tackled by Peter and dragged kicking and screaming to Monica who sedated her.

Artemis, however, got away.
