Mission: The Factions
Location: Ace Comic Con- Long Island NY
Timeline: Present Day

Again things had gotten worse for Lorde this day. He watched the young man slithering across the ground alligator style like Ivar the Boneless. The most baffling thing to him was that Syn hadn’t just picked him up and settled him down someplace. Maybe one less central to this. He almost wanted to have a fake sword fight with his old compadre, but there were two problems with that. For one that would likely just make this kid explode into an even bigger tantrum than he was already having. The second reason was given his luck with people lately they would likely think he was trying to take her head with his massive foam sword so he could be the one.

Honestly Lorde thought this kid would have been better off taking his next vacation at a yoga spa or maybe even in Tibet with real Yogi Bears. One idea came to mind, mainly because he didn’t want to be blamed for this kid having his head cracked by some other fan running around and trying to see the action.

“Sleep.” The spell could only keep the boy asleep for up to eight hours and if someone jostled him enough he would awaken early. “Hey look I think that kid just passed out! I mean someone should get him back into his chair before something happens.” Maybe that would help move things along.

A group of cosplayers made their way to the front of the crowd, curious as to what had drawn attention from their little act out in the main lobby. “Wow, now those are some costumes. We might actually have a run for our money this time, guys,” the girl in the look-alike Wyrmwood costume said, laughing.

Others standing around them began looking between the two women, the one facing off with Lorde, then to the cosplayer. A confused murmur began to spread in the crowd right around them, “Wait, I thought that was...” followed closely by, “Does that mean...” And suddenly people began pushing their way towards the doors.

Jesus wept, Wyrmwood sighed internally. She had hoped that she would have been able to keep up the flimsy façade a bit longer. To Grant, she thought, Drop the reporter bit. Wheelchair, pick the kid up, and go. And take your gaggle of followers with you. The voice was serene, but commanding, if not a touch annoyed.

Her red-reptilian gaze never left Lorde, though. “I know better than to take my eyes off of you,” she stated simply, as though he had spoken his thoughts out loud.

Grant would just nod and pick up Matt as a member of his entourage would get the wheelchair. "Time to get you kids out of here a little quicker." As the member helped Grant load matt he would sigh, "This is the influencer rave all over again; well obviously she's not Blade...i don't know i never asked lorde if he was a vampire."

The two kids he was with were safe, and people had largely fled the area. Grant would turn over a nearby table and rig a camera to record the action while he took cover; making sure both lorde and wyrnwood were in earshot he would begin his intro. "Hey true believers...looks like we got the real old-school deal; between lorde trying to win hearts and minds and Wyrmwood looking for a threat or menace headline from the bugle, shoutout to the king of the flattop You all are gonna be on this trip with me"

Zo was pissed. At first it had all just been irritating if not embarrassing but now she was full blown pissed. Between the ‘actors’ and this damn camera reporter video blogger guy she was damn near growling at someone. Then Matt passed out and her attention reverted back to him.

When Matty was lifted and put into his chair she had little option but to follow him, which may have been a blessing because she was ready to tell this Lorde character how she really felt about this whole debacle. It was best she was being ushered away. Even if feeling like a helpless child ate at her more then the situation she had found herself in. She was nobody, she was weak, she was helpless, she was a damn damsel in need of rescue. The thought had her clenching her teeth.

Lorde, still standing with his massive foam sword pointed at Syn. He was happy to see the young man had finally been looked after, even if it took some prodding. Then the dark armored figure turned his red gaze over at Grant’s camera. “So as I was saying before I was oh so rudely interrupted. There is a massive multinational intelligence organization known as SHIELD. Don’t get me wrong, much like The Department of Homeland Security or The Department of Defence this organization was thought of as quite important in its creation. Although much like those massive government entities this one was created with no knowledge of the people that truly paid for its creation or that it was designed to protect. Fast forward a bit and they have become more evil than any single supervillain walking the Earth today. They have so many factions within that organization that one hand has no idea what the other is doing, and in an agency that already has carte blanche on a global level this should frighten you. I tell you this today only as a warning. They have already targeted your friends and your family. Someone should take a stand and demand that these people be held accountable for their actions against the American People and The Word.!”

Then Lorde turned his attention back on to his old friend. “What? I bet not too many people saw that coming. I’ve never really had a chance to point out that connection. That said if it doesn’t make it out we will know won’t we?” The madman was almost giddy with wonderment at the idea that SHIELD could get pissed about this kind of coverage.
