Love My Angel of Death 4

Mission: Findelion Watch - Villains
Location: Limbo
Timeline: Present

Lorde opened his hazel eyes and blinked. He felt much better but something was wrong. Above him was a four poster bed with its red curtains drawn like the one he and Aryel shared back in Middletown. He sat up and looked around. The first thing he couldn’t help but notice that laying next to him was a long blonde haired girl with her back turned towards him. He almost touched her but even just holding his fingers close he could tell somewhere in there was his beloved Aryel.

The room was decorated just like his office bedroom. Frederick could smell the cherry blossom flowers from the pool that should be in the other room. He had begun to question why they had sent him back to Tera. After all, didn't they have more for him to do?

Suddenly a voice cut through the air. I was deep and raspy. Definitely not human. “You didn’t stop by, last time you were in the neighborhood. So I added a stop on your little highway to hell.”

Lorde could now see two yellow eyes on the other side of the curtain. Also he could smell cigar smoke. The kind of cheroot you only found in one place, Hell. “I wasn’t even sure if this universe had a heaven or a hell.”

“Oh I assure you there’s both. While you aren’t in the darkest corner of the universe, even Limbo has layers and well you're pretty deep in it.” There was a demonic chuckle after that.

The crazy time traveler nodded seeing the humor. He could only guess that when Aryel took him to the future the trap she had set for him bordered on the dimension of Limbo in some way. Alerting this demon to his presence. It was always a strange feeling meeting someone you knew from another life. It always seemed like there were changes and sometimes those changes could be trouble. Lorde looked at his hands for a moment. They were pale so he guessed he was still in the same body. He reached over to his nightstand and grabbed a pack of smokes. Always nice to know when your host goes that extra mile for the details. Then he flicked his finger and lit the cigarette and stood up from the bed to see his host more clearly.

S’ym smiled after taking a puff off of his favorite cigar. “What, you aren’t afraid of me? Most humans get a little jumpy when they figure out where they are.”

Lorde shrugged. “Really I don’t sense any overt hostile intent from you and well like you said there are worse places I could have ended up.” In fact he was just glad his head wasn’t being erased by Nexus.

“So are you human?” S’ym raised an eyebrow in skepticism.

Now the blonde man laughed and smiled. “Well while I am sure I am not human. I am not sure exactly what I am. He pointed at the room and all its gilded trappings. “So did you create this? I mean really nice work. Almost had me fooled for a moment.” Just then Frederick felt something strange. For no reason at all he felt a small urge to hurt his host. He had felt like this before and sometimes for no reason but those had been darker times.

S’ym smiled at his captive guest. He could sense the man’s unease. He knew full well what it was from. Limbo had begun to affect his soul. He pretended to ignore that and just answer the strange man’s question. “Oh we have known about you from the time you trained in magic in the Arthurian Period. I would just like to offer you the chance to train here as well.”

Lorde thought about that for a moment. Didn’t people that spent too much time in Limbo become demons or at least part demon. He knew then that it was most likely what was making him feel so anxious. So he needed to finish up here quickly and with care. After all it just wouldn’t do to have his little golden goddess hurt just after finding her again. “While I thank you for your invitation I have business to get back to on Earth.” His words felt slightly hollow. While he knew what needed to be done. The urge to cut loose and battle his way out was becoming stronger.

“Oh I see you think I am just going to let you walk out of here is that it? After all, you don’t have access to your machines here do you?” S’ym chuckled.

Lorde rested his hand on the wall behind the princess bed. Suddenly the entire wall on that side of the room disappeared and in its place was a shimmering blue portal. “You are under the mistaken assumption that I need my machines.” Something had gone wrong though. He had only intended to make the portal ten feet in diameter. Instead he was guessing this portal was at least ten times in size. Although there was a massive chance in cases like this that something could come through the gate, that would be his host's problem. Frederick picked up his sleeping beauty and nodded. “Hey if you're the man I believe you to be, don't worry. I will call on you again and next time it will be on my turf.”

-----

Sometime later Lorde opened his hazel eyes and looked around quickly. There was the little blonde girl lying next to him. He wondered if Nexus or the denizens of Limbo had somehow orchestrated another pit stop for them.

Suddenly and without warning his goddess sprung to life and pinned him to the bed. Her nails dug into his shoulders as she looked deep into his eyes. “Where is my sword!” Her eyes started to faintly glow.

Frederick shrugged a little. Sure it hurt but no more than many things he had been through. Then he held out his right hand and soon his copy of the sword he once wielded on Tera came to his hand. “I am guessing you don’t mean this one.” He smirked. He never could help joking with people he cared about.

Aryel shook her head quickly. “No no, I know a fake when I see it. After all that sword is no artifact forged by a god,”

“Well why don’t you try and summon your sword?” He nodded really hoping that worked and she would let go of his shoulders.

Aryel held out her right hand and something appeared in her sword’s place. It was a very ornate umbrella. Its ribs and handle appeared to be made of bone and the canopy was made of jet black skin. “What is this?”

Frederick got very excited. He remembered this sort of thing quite well from both comics and movies. “Oh I know this. You need to either tap the umbrella on the ground or hold it above your head and say a special phrase. Sometimes it is like your superhero name. Oh and be careful because what you say or do might make it stick that way.” Then he tapped her shoulder and excitedly added. “Oh try saying, ‘I am a champion!’ Like you have done before with that sword.”

The young woman gave her husband a stern look. Then she looked at the strange device. While quite often he sounded like he was kidding he still told the truth. So she did as he recommended and lifted the bone raven handled umbrella into the air and like so many times before uttered the words. “I am a champion!” The umbrella spun and lifted into the air and changed into the legendary bone sword of death.Suddenly she was lifted into the air in a Jesus Christ pose. Her body, hair and eyes turned to gold. Her feet and hands turned to claws. Bat-like wings sprung from her back and a tail grew with a small spade at the end. Her clothes became a black metallic armor. Finally her sword came back into her right hand as she landed back on the bed.

The old traveler couldn’t help but ask. “So how does it feel?”

Aryel’s eyes became even brighter as did her smile. “It is amazing!”

In the dark depths of Limbo, the ruler of The First Circle of Hell plotted how he would regain his lost prizes. As he stood looking at the blue portal left behind by the strange man known as Lorde he heard an all too familiar voice from behind him. “Oh S’ym, You have really stepped in it this time.”

The purple demon looked to see a man dressed all in a red Armani suit and taking a drink from a bottle of Jack Danial’s. “What are you doing here in my realm?”

After smiling and taking another drink the man replied frankly. “Oh I am sure you know. Let’s start with you breaking a treaty that has been around from before your creation. Then accessing and Earth that has been deemed off limits to most of our kind. Lastly, that man should never have known that this place existed and that alone would be reason enough to place you on the rack for a thousand years.”

S’ym winced knowing that the Lord of the Nine Hells was known to punish lawbreakers in that exact way. Even ones who had done far less than he was being accused of.

“But S’ym, I don’t want it to be said I am not fair. I am always willing to work with my fellow Lords. In your case the biggest thing you wanted was to escape Limbo and travel to that God forsaken planet of monkeys. So I am here to grant your wish.”

“Oh?” The Lord of Limbo didn’t get to finish.

The King of Hell held out the bottle. “Get in the bottle!” Suddenly golden gauntlets with runes appeared on S’ym’s wrists. Then he was sucked into the bottle like vapor into a vacuum. Then the sharp dressed man walked to the blue portal and tossed the bottle through. “What did they call it? Black Bottle?”

-----

Frederick decided to take his Golden Goddess out to eat in her new world. So he took her to a nice Mexican place near Universal that looked to him like a cross between the temple in that Tarintino vampire flick and a rave club. The food looked nice and they didn’t seem to mind him making big complicated orders,

The waiter asked if they would like something to drink while the food was being prepared. He listed some of their most popular mixed drinks, shots, and beers.

Aryel shook her head. “I don’t suppose they have black bottle. You know the one from around here.”

The waiter was very polite and asked the young lady to describe it for him.

The small blonde smiled. “Well as Frederick explained it was originally a famous whisky. Charred black by its proximity to volcanoes and other powerful energy sources.”

Just before Lorde could interrupt and let his wife know that drink didn’t exist here the waiter got very excited. “Oh my, I think we have just what you are looking for. It just came in this week.” The young man ran off and soon came back with a box that was inlaid with silver skulls. The waiter opened the box. Inside was lined with crushed red velvet. Snugly fitted in the lining a charred black bottle with similar silver designs. “Will this do?”

The End
