Physical Description William or Will to his friends is nineteen and still has something of a babyface. It is clear at first glance that he has a mixed heritage, that he is biracial. He keeps his black hair on the short side because it becomes ruly and out of control when it gets too long. It becomes thick and wiry. His eyes are softly woven with a chorus of green threads, they are bright and reflect the light and could be described as guileless. They are a trait his mother gave to him. His lips are thick and full, clearly inherited from his father, but otherwise, his mouth is almost delicate that's his own, not directly from his parents His nose is thinner, almost aristocratic, a trait from some distant ancestor.

He is solidly built and it is clear when he takes off his shirt that he works out and lifts weights. He has a six-pack, but he's not overly muscular. He lifts for definition not to look like Mr. Universe.

His clothing is comfortable and casual with a lot of dark jeans that are almost exclusively straight-legged. On Saturdays, or late nights in the library he prefers tee shirts in neutral colors. In class, or when he’s attending a frat party, or on a date, he usually wears a button-up shirts that are stylish and colorful. He’s also been known to wear Seattle Seahawks gear and that of the school he attends, Pacific Northwest College, the Lumberjacks.

Stylish sneakers, or occasionally desert boots, complete his outfit and what college student could fail to don a backpack, and Will’s bears the college’s signature burly looking ax-wielding lumberman.

Personality & Traits

General Overview Will is a multi-faceted individual with many interests and talents. He's sports-minded and talented enough to be successful at least at the collegiate level. He's a good debater that doesn't mind being in front of others. He's not a social butterfly, but he's comfortable in his own skin. He's an advocate for minority rights and can play the guitar halfway decently.

But more importantly, he is curious with a scientific bent and wants a career in that area.
Will is a natural-born leader. He embodies the gifts of charisma and confidence and projects authority in a way that draws crowds together behind a common goal. However, he is also characterized by an often ruthless level of rationality, using his drive, determination, and sharp mind to achieve whatever end he’s set for himself.

He feels his time is limited, so he doesn't waste it living someone else’s life. He isn’t trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. He doesn’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown his own inner voice. And most important, has the courage to follow his heart and intuition. He somehow already knows what he truly wants to become. Everything else is secondary

Happiness Lies in the Joy of Achievement
If there’s anything he loves, it’s a good challenge, big or small, and he firmly believes that given enough time and resources, he can achieve any goal. This quality gives him the ability to think strategically and hold a long-term focus while executing each step of his plans with determination This determination is often a self-fulfilling prophecy, as he pushes his goals through with sheer willpower where others might give up and move on, and his nature means they he is likely to push everyone else right along with him, achieving spectacular results in the process.

At the negotiating table, be it in a corporate environment or buying a car, he is dominant, relentless He genuinely enjoys the challenge, the battle of wits, the repartee that comes from this environment, and if the other side can’t keep up, that’s no reason for him to fold on their own core tenet of ultimate victory.

He has a particular skill in recognizing the talents of others, and this helps in both his team-building efforts (since no one, no matter how brilliant, can do everything alone), and to keep him from displaying too much arrogance and condescension. However, he is not perfect. He has to fight the darker side of that talent, of calling out others’ failures with a chilling degree of insensitivity, and this is where he can start to run into trouble.

He needs to remember though, that their stature comes not just from their own actions, but from the actions of the team that props him up, and that it’s important to recognize the contributions, talents, and needs, especially from an emotional perspective, of his support network. Even if he has to adopt a "fake it ‘til you make it" mentality, if he can combine an emotionally healthy focus alongside his many strengths, he will be rewarded with deep, satisfying relationships and all the challenging victories he can handle.

Sam has a good relationship with his parents, both of whom are powerful attorneys. Being a biracial couple and experiencing the prejudices associated with that, coupled with their left-of-center political views, making them very tolerant when their son came out to them as gay when he was fifteen.

He grew up in New York City living in the iconic Dakota Apartments and is used to rubbing shoulders with the 1%. While he is used to it, he’d rather be with people of more modest means.

He has the physique and innate talent to play college sports, particularly football, (and does excel at intramural activities) but he’s more concerned with pursuing his academic career

Strengths & Weaknesses Efficient – Will sees inefficiency not just as a problem in its own right, but as something that pulls time and energy away from all his future goals, an elaborate sabotage consisting of irrationality and laziness. He will root out such behavior wherever he goes.
Energetic – Rather than finding this process taxing he is energized by it.
Self-Confident – He couldn’t do this if he was plagued by self-doubt – he trusts his abilities, makes known his opinions, and believes in his capacity as a leader.
Strong-Willed – Nor does he give up when the going gets tough – he strives to achieve his goals, but really nothing is quite as satisfying to him as rising to the challenge of each obstacle in his run to the finish line.
Strategic Thinkers – He exemplifies the difference between moment-to-moment crisis management and navigating the challenges and steps of a bigger plan, and is known for examining every angle of a problem and not just resolving momentary issues, but moving the whole project forward with his solutions.
Charismatic and Inspiring – He is able to inspire and invigorate others, and this, in turn, helps him to accomplish his often ambitious goals that could never be finished alone.
Stubborn and Dominant – Sometimes all this confidence and willpower can go too far, and He is all too capable of digging in his heels, trying to win every single debate and pushing his vision, and his alone.
Impatient – Some people need more time to think than others, an intolerable delay to the quick-thinking Will. He sometimes misinterprets contemplation as stupidity or disinterest in his haste, a terrible mistake for a leader he wants to become.
Cocky – His self-confidence sometimes goes too far
Poor Handling of Emotions – At the same time, he finds it hard to express his own emotional expression. He can be too guarded and sometimes winds up, inadvertently
Ambitions Will is majoring in pharmacology and plans to transfer to the University of Washington for their graduate program. He wants to prove himself without his parent’s money or influence. He’s in no way estranged from them and maintains a good relationship with them, but he wants to make it on his own. They insist on paying for his schooling, though he pays for his own living expenses and once he’s done with his Masters they’ve agreed not to subsidize him.

On a more personal level, he’d like to find true love. He’s not entirely sure if Zach is “the one”, but he is his second longest relationship and is really beginning to care for him.
Since he took some advanced classes in High School, he’s developed an interest in pharmacology and toxicology and wants to pursue a career in that field. He’s had to correct more than one person that he doesn’t want to be a pharmacist A pharmacist is one who directly interacts with patients distributing: medications while pharmacology and toxicology are more research-oriented studying chemicals and their biological and the elucidation of cellular and organismal function in relation to these chemicals.
Hobbies & Interests In addition to an interest in chemistry and biology, he has an interest in puzzles and cryptography. He has no desire to follow in his parents’ footsteps and become a lawyer, but he did well in debate and mock UN activities in High School. He enjoys playing and watching sports, but the only team sports he ever played were soccer and water polo.

Personal History William's parents were both very successful criminal attorneys that worked for the same mega-firm in New York City. His mother had come out of a bad divorce and their friendship turned into romance. Willam was the firstborn of the new couple.
He was born on April 1, 2002, and he got razzed more than once growing up about being an April Fool’s Baby. When he was four, his parents took a wild gamble and branched out on their own starting their own firm. It was risky, but it did pay off and within eight years they had a firm with six other partners and thirteen associates.

Theirs was a defense firm and they took controversial cases, cases others wouldn’t take, and often they had to do with social justice, mutants, and others, mostly minorities, who had been, or at least claimed to be victims of an unjust justice system
Like most parents, they had wanted their children to follow in their footsteps, but they wanted them to make their own choices. They were the opposite of helicopter parents and sometimes gave their children too much freedom. But there was a lot of love in the home.

William, who rebelled at being called Billy at age five (and Bill when he turned eight)always felt there was something different about him, something wrong even like he really didn’t fit in. Part of it was because he was biracial and was bullied for it in Elementary School until he was enrolled in a private school, but there was something more than that.
When puberty begins to hit and most boys started thinking about girls, he started thinking about other boys and the lightbulb came out. His coming out wasn’t exactly a Hallmark moment, but it went smoothly enough. Smoother with his parents and family than with his friends.

Living in the posh Dakota Apartments among the richest of the rich was nice and he appreciated it, but it really wasn’t him. Or at least he wanted to achieve things on his own, not through his parents or anyone else’s success. He’d wanted to go back to a public High School, but his parents convinced him to take advantage of the elite prep school education and a free ride to a college of his choice as long as he studied and maintained a B average. He did more than that he kept up an A average and graduated in the top five percent, but not the top five individuals.

It was in High School he developed a crush on another boy who returned the favor and they were together until graduation when Carlos stayed in Manhattan and Will moved across the country to Seattle Washington to attend Pacific Northwest University that had an excellent pharmacology/toxicology program.

It was there at a Sigma Phi Beta, a gay frat, parity, that he met Zach Scott. There was lot of drinking, even though both were underage and they slept together. He really wasn’t a partier like Zach. preferring the library to a wild frat gathering. Zack usually, but not always had to drag him along. He’s slept with Zack the first time as a distraction because he was missing his ex-boyfriend from back home who he still had feelings for. The fact he was drunk at the time had a lot to do with it as well.
Their hookups became a regular thing. then it turned into something more. After a year or so had gone by Zach asked him to move in with him and he has just agreed to do so.
